Late night soccer in Waterford City

Late Night Soccer is an initiative between Waterford Sports Partnership, the F.A.I. and the Community Gardaí.
Twenty eight young people (15-20 years) attended this programme over 5 weeks on Friday evenings from 7.30pm-9.30pm in Williamstown All Weather Pitches, Williamstown. Teams came from local projects such as TREO, SWAY, BALL and AXIS. Members from these projects were also encouraged to bring a friend along with them in a bid to increase physical activity amongst this target group.

Numbers varied each night but never fell below 20, which is a great result. The group were split into 4 teams of 5/6 people; therefore 2 games could take place simultaneously, lasting 20 minutes. Each team played each other, so it team got to play at least 3 games.

Waterford Sports Partnership would like to thank all those who attended, as the games were played in a very sportsman like manner, the FAI project workers for facilitating the sessions and Williamstown All Weather Pitches for hosting this programme.
