We had a great turn out from a range of group members looking to pick up some tips and tricks to get their group walking! The group took part in practical demonstrations and learned about different types of walking, using step counters to record steps, warm up and cool down exercises for all abilities, correct walking technique and how to safely lead a group on a walk.
Everyone who attended received a step counter and a card to record their steps and a high vis vest, bag and flashing light to keep safe while out about walking. Feedback on the day was very positive with attendees commenting that it was very useful and that they learned lots of practical tips to bring back to their groups.
Well done to all those that took part!
The Walkability Challenge continues with a set

Don’t forget your high vis vests and step counters if you have them and your walking shoes, water and rain gear!
