Last Walk in Spring Series - Mahon Falls

Waterford Sports Partnership is delighted with another hugely successful Walk Waterford Spring Series. This Spring Series incorporated a series of five walks; Dungarvan Railway Walk, Dunmore East Wooded Walk, Glenshelane River Walk, Tramore Doneraile and Mahon Falls.
These five walks were selected to give the people of Waterford a chance to experience and explore some of the fantastic walking trails that are on our doorstep and more importantly all free to access!!

Considering the recent cold weather there was a great turnout at the fifth and final Walk Waterford Walk on Saturday 23rd February. Twenty four leisure walkers undertook the well known Mahon Falls Walk in the Comeragh Mountains.  This 2.4km scenic route took the walkers into the heart of the Comeragh Mountains on an accessible path allowing everyone to enjoy the spectacular scenic views of Dungarvan Bay and beyond. A special thank you must go to our volunteers on the day who assisted WSP in leading this walk.
Waterford Sports Partnership hosts the Walk Waterford programme twice a year – in Spring and in the Autumn. The initiative is designed to showcase the many walking trails available across the County and encourage people to go back in their own time with their family and friends. The Walk Waterford Series is aimed at those looking for a leisure stroll on easy terrain, the type of walk suitable for the wearing of runners.
Waterford Sports Partnership plans to run the Walk Waterford Autumn Series starting in September.  Dates and times will be confirmed later in the year.
