It will increase accessibility to the Waterford Greenway particularly for older adults and people with a disability and ultimately have a positive impact on attitudes of the wider community to accessibility, inclusion and health for all.
Our role has been to research, source and procure the Trishaw and more importantly design a model for its use which has also involved liaising with Cycling Ireland to develop standardised training for Trishaw pilots nationally. The Trishaw will be managed, stored and used by the Deise Daycare Centre and centre volunteers will receive pilot training so that the Daycare Centre members can enjoy regular trips on the Trishaw.
The Trishaw will not be available for public rental.
