Boccia Referree Training Day

There was a great turn out for our Boccia Referee Training Day which took place on Monday 11th March in the Cill Barra Community Centre.
A total of fourteen participants, from St. Otterans and Rehabcare, took part in the course. The group were very enthusiastic and made the day immensely entertaining, albeit they were not afraid to crack the whip if the rules were not adhered to. Waterford Institute of technology’s Deirdre Barry gave an insightful and easy to follow look into the correct procedure for refereeing a Boccia game which was enjoyed by all.

Waterford Sports Partnership in conjunction with the Cill Barra Center run a Boccia League once a month, the game is always thoroughly enjoyed by all those who take part and the group are eagerly awaiting putting their new found skills to the test.
