National Recreation Week 2015 takes place from Sunday 28th June to Saturday 4th July 2015. Funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs the focus for this years events is on giving young people an opportunity to participate in recreation activities they have never before tried. Waterford Sports Partnership in conjunction with Waterford City and County Council and local sports clubs are hosting the following FREE:
Introduction to Surfing Family Friendly | Wednesday 1st July | 2 to 4pm

Family Friendly event for 8 to 18 year olds @ Waterford District Coarse Angling Club
Open invitation to a coaching & angling day. Free permits & light refreshments on the north shore of Ballyshunnock. Visitors need appropriate outdoor clothing including caps, sunglasses. All fishing tackle will be provided

National Play Day - EXPLORE AND DISCOVER THE OUTDOORS!
Friday 3rdJuly | 10am to 12noon
at Colligan Wood (just outside Dungarvan) & Kilbarry Nature Park Waterford
Parents and children from 3-8 years of age come and join us to explore and discover the outdoors. The children will be given an exploration pack which includes a magnifying glass, pen, paper and a selection of items to help them on their way. Bring your own Picnic. PARENTAL SUPERVISION REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES
