Sean Kelly Tour Youth Challenge Update

Well done to the twenty-three young people that completed the final Sean Kelly Youth Challenge Training Spin with Waterford Sports Partnership in preparation for the 50km Kelly Cruise on August 25th.
Participants have worked hard and put in the hours on the saddle to improve their endurance, speed and road safety skills over the series of six training spins on Tuesday evenings from July-August. For the final spin participants were able to complete the first 30km loop of the Kelly Cruise before losing the evening light but the group are ready and raring to go for the full 50km in ten days time,
watch this space for some future
pro-cyclists in the making!

Feedback from participants about the spins was very positive with the majority saying they found it useful for preparing for the 50km and improving their cycling confidence. David Longan commented “It’s well worth your time  and gets you ready to go”. Hannah Hayes said “you meet lovely people and its fun too”. A big thank you to our brilliant volunteer leaders for giving up their time to help out, both parents and Dungarvan Cycling Club members, the training spins would not have been possible without your  assistance and support.

Best of luck to all of our SKT Youth Challenge participants on the day, we’ll see you there!
