Waterford Sports Partnership recently delivered Children's Officer training in the VEC Offices in Dungarvan.
This six hour course was split into two evenings and was aimed at Club Children’s Officers to help them to carry out the function of their role in the club. It goes into further detail of material delivered in the Basic Awareness Course (Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Course). This information will support the Club Children’s Officer in the implementation of Best Practice in the club. This course is a follow on from the 3 hour Basic Awareness course (Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Course) that is offered to all over 18’s involved in organised sport for young people.
Sixteen participants attended from Waterford based sports clubs including: Lismore Football Club, Lismore Cricket Club, Cunnigar Pitch & Putt, Waterford Hockey Club, WIT, Waterford Judo Club, Clonea Strand Leisure Centre, Tower Hotel Leisure Centre, St. Paul’s Boxing, Roanmore, Kilrossanty and Dungarvan Ladies Football Clubs.
