Female Coach Development Programme

Congratulations to the twelve female coaches from seven clubs who completed the final session of the WSP Female Coach Development Programme last night in Balinameela Hall.
The ‘How to deliver an effective Warm Up, Cool Down and Strength and Conditioning’ session was delivered by Peter Jones and Jason Ryan and is a joint programme in conjunction with Ladies Football, GAA and Camogie Association. The session focussed on the key elements of warm up and cool downs including the development of skill and decision making. Jason Ryan led the strength and conditioning element and the coaches had great fun with animal crawls, wrestling, medicine ball work and other areas to develop core strength and improve performance.

The course aims to assist novice coaches become involved in coaching local teams. Deirdre O’Donnell from Ballysaggart Ladies Football Club commented ‘Very interesting course with great ideas. I hope to help with the under 10’s next year now at my club.’
