Well done to the twenty-nine participants from the Tramore 'Tramovers' Youth and Family Project, the Northern Suburbs 'Gracedieu Groovers' Community Youth Project and the Midway 'Marching Mad Yokes' Project on successfully completing the final week of the Waterford Youth Walkers Pedometer Challenge!
Groups planned out and completed a weekly team walk wearing step counters over the four week challenge. Following their walk, groups submitted reports to WSP detailing their average step count for the walk, points of interest along the way and safety features.
At the end of the challenge The Midway Marching Mad Yokes have retained their 2012 title and come out on top of the step count competition with an overall team average of 31,494 steps! Congratulations and well done to all members of the group! WSP will be presenting the Midway Project with the challenge trophy as well as a voucher to the value of €100 to go towards an activity, event or equipment of their choice to promote regular physical activity participation within the group. WSP will also be presenting award certificates to the Tramore Youth and Family Project as the group with the most improved step count throughout the challenge and the Northern Suburbs Community Youth Project as the winners of the walking reports competition.
